Attending the Research Science Institute (RSI) 2024 has been an intense and rewarding journey. Here's a look at what my time here has involved.
We had the chance to choose from various STEM subjects. I selected Mechanical Engineering and Mathematics. In addition to these, everyone attended humanities classes, and we had to read "Hamlet" for these sessions.

RSI organized several trips to prestigious institutions, including Harvard. These trips gave us cool insights into the academic environment and opportunities available.
The program also provided an introduction to essential research tools and skills. We learned how to use LaTeX for document preparation, navigate the MIT computer system, and understand basic research methodologies.
One of the standout experiences was attending talks by notable figures, including a session with Nobel laureate Wolfgang Ketterle. His insights were inspiring and left a lasting impact.
The schedule was packed with activities. From mentor meetings to weekend mini-presentations, there was always something happening. This busy schedule meant free time was almost nonexistent, leading to a fair amount of sleep deprivation.

The mentor meeting was an important part of the program. I remember the day with my mentor and feeling very thankful for their guidance. The people at RSI are nice and exceptionally smart, creating a stimulating and supportive environment.
Despite the lack of free time and the constant hustle, my experience at RSI 2024 has been incredibly rewarding. The knowledge gained, the people met, and the skills developed make all the hard work worthwhile.
